What the programme provides
Oman’s 2025 Golden Residency programme provides renewable ten-year residence through approved investment and related tracks. The ministry’s published minimum is OMR 200,000. That figure is not a universal all-in price, government donation or promise of investment performance.
The programme should be distinguished from the older five- and ten-year investor tiers. Use the current platform’s specific track and checklist rather than combining old thresholds with the new benefits.
Compare the investment tracks
| Issue | Practical meaning |
|---|---|
| Business investment | Qualifying establishment or investment in a business; confirm the actual licensed activity and evidence. |
| Real estate | Ready property in the approved tourism-complex route; verify title, qualifying category and value. |
| Financial investment | Approved stocks, government development bonds or bank deposits, according to the chosen track. |
| Job creation | A qualifying enterprise employing at least 50 Omanis under the published track. |
| Other approved nomination track | Use only the specific platform approval and evidence; do not infer eligibility from a company relationship alone. |
Family inclusion
The ministry describes family inclusion without restrictions on age or number. This is a Golden Residency feature, not the ordinary family-joining rule, which uses children under 21. Each family member still needs the relevant identity, relationship and application evidence; the programme does not remove security or admissibility checks.
Property and commercial due diligence
Before committing capital, verify the selected investment’s eligibility, ownership rights, valuation, title or issuer documents, maintenance conditions and consequences of disposal. For a company, review licensing, Omanisation, payroll, accounts and tax rather than assuming residence is the only regulatory obligation.
The evidence file
- Passport and personal identity records for the principal and included family.
- Civil relationship documents and required authentication.
- Track-specific title, investment, deposit, company or employment evidence.
- Source of funds and banking documents consistent with the investment.
- Any medical, conduct or additional authority evidence required for the case.
Application and continuing conditions
Use the official residence platform to select the track, submit the supporting file and respond to the authority’s requests. The published programme describes a streamlined digital service, but that is not a guaranteed decision deadline for every applicant. Confirm the permission issued, continuing investment obligations and renewal conditions in writing.
Residence, tax and nationality
Golden Residency is not citizenship by investment. It also does not by itself establish treaty residence, end a previous country’s tax residence or exempt the holder from the enacted 2028 PIT. A long-term investment decision should incorporate those separate questions.
