An account built around your needs
Your company needs an account that can receive customer payments and pay the people it works with. We assess the entity, ownership and transaction model together, then coordinate a suitable banking application and follow-through. The objective is a workable operating relationship for the real business.
Assess the business and institution fit
We examine the entity’s jurisdiction, ownership, operations, customers, suppliers and expected account activity.
Connect the corporate evidence
We coordinate current entity documents, the ownership chart, authorised persons and the evidence explaining trading or investment activity.
Manage the opening work
We support the accepted application, verification steps and follow-up questions, with suitable alternatives considered within the engagement.
Confirm the operating handover
We identify agreed payment functions, account access and signing arrangements, and distinguish any further merchant-processing or credit work.
When this service fits
- You have a company with a clear commercial purpose and identifiable owners and decision-makers.
- You need to receive customer or platform payments, pay suppliers or manage funds across currencies.
- You are forming a company, changing operations or replacing banking that no longer fits the business.
Remote or in person?
Remote opening
Availability depends on the entity, countries involved and the people who own, control and sign for it. A simple locally incorporated company and a foreign company with several ownership layers can face different routes.
In-person opening
The institution may require specified directors, signatories or other connected persons to attend. Confirm the attendee list and complete document pack before booking.
Hybrid opening
Preparation may be online while verification happens by video or at an appointment. Confirm whether original corporate records and later signatures are required.
Know the complete cost
We quote after assessing the account holder and the route. The proposal separates the opening work from the institution’s requirements and other costs.
Our implementation fee
An agreed fee for the accepted business-account scope, quoted after the business and ownership review.
Bank charges
Account opening and maintenance, payments, FX and any additional services; compare them against the expected activity.
Required funds
Minimum balances, deposits or relationship requirements are distinct from fees and are confirmed before engagement.
Supporting work
Company-document updates, certification, translation, courier delivery or travel if needed. Formation, tax analysis and payment processing have separate scopes.
Our accepted-engagement assurance
After matching the profile and accepting the engagement, our aim is a suitable opened account. If we cannot obtain one, we refund the Offshore Capitalist fee. The client must accept a suitable account we obtain. This does not promise universal eligibility or approval by a named bank.
Opening process & timing
The sequence is clear; the duration depends on the selected institution, complete documents and any required appointments. We confirm the expected route-specific timetable before engagement.
01Map the money flowsBefore engagement
Explain what the company sells or holds, who pays it, whom it pays, where the work occurs and the currencies and volumes required.
02Confirm the opening routeAfter profile review
Assess institution fit, essential functions, the people to be verified and remote or travel requirements. Agree the scope and costs.
03Build the corporate fileDepends on records and ownership complexity
Align incorporation records, ownership, authority and commercial evidence. Identify stale company documents or inconsistencies before applying.
04Application and follow-upInstitution-dependent
Coordinate the application, requested interviews and additional questions. A submission or account reference is not necessarily an active operating account.
05Activate and organise accessAfter approval and required funding
Complete the agreed access and signing setup. Confirm any payment limits, user permissions and further steps relevant to the intended activity.
Document checklist

Details that make a difference
A registered company is only the starting point
An institution still needs to understand the activity, people and intended transactions.
Confusing banking and card processing
Receiving a platform payout is different from accepting customer cards directly. Identify the merchant-acquiring or processor work separately.
Incomplete ownership chains
A corporate shareholder adds another layer to explain. The application should make ultimate ownership and actual control intelligible.
Applying with an inaccurate activity description
Describe the actual business, including sensitive or regulated activities. A simpler label does not create a suitable account.
Why work with Offshore Capitalist?
We consider company structure, banking and operations together. That helps identify a practical obstacle before the company commits to contracts, a jurisdiction or a provider. Once the engagement is accepted, the team coordinates the implementation rather than leaving you with an introduction and a checklist.
Questions about this service
Can you help a newly formed company?
Yes, subject to the profile assessment and a suitable route. A new business may explain its purpose through plans, ownership funding and initial commercial arrangements rather than a long trading history.
Does the company have to be local to the bank?
That depends on the institution and applicant. We assess the exact entity and activity; availability for a local company should not be assumed to extend to a foreign company.
Can you help with platform or merchant payments?
Tell us which platforms and payment functions are essential. Bank-account opening and direct card processing are different workstreams, so the proposal identifies which is included.
Do all directors need to travel?
The attendance and verification requirements are institution-specific. We establish the relevant directors, signatories, owners and controllers for the proposed route before advising on travel.
Let’s assess your opening options
Describe the company’s jurisdiction, business activity, ownership, customer markets and required currencies. Add the problem with your current setup and whether the relevant people can travel.

Corporate online eligibility
HSBC Hong Kong describes an eligible mobile-opening route for specified Hong Kong-registered companies. Other cases may require a video conference or banking-centre appointment. That does not establish remote eligibility for every foreign company.
- HSBC Commercial Banking: Hong Kong business-account example. The mobile route is eligibility-limited; other applicants may need video or a banking-centre appointment.
