Define the activity before choosing a jurisdiction
An online casino, sportsbook, software supplier, game developer and affiliate business are not interchangeable. The product, contractual role and customer markets determine the questions that need to be resolved. A broad description such as gaming is not enough for a useful bank or structuring assessment.
We consider suitable international structuring, banking and payment work after the activity and relevant permissions are understood. Specialist regulatory work and provider acceptance are separate dependencies, not automatic components of a company formation.
A foreign licence may not provide access to every market
The UK Gambling Commission requires an appropriate licence to provide remote gambling to consumers in Great Britain even when the business is based abroad. That is a concrete example of why the customer market matters alongside the place of incorporation.
Build a market-by-market view of the actual activity and required permissions. The review should identify whether the company operates the gambling product, supplies software, introduces players or performs another role. Those distinctions also affect how the business is presented to financial providers.
The facts that shape the recommendation
| Part of the business or plan | What we examine |
|---|---|
| Product | Game, betting or other activity, money flows and the role of each entity. |
| Markets | Where consumers are located and which permissions govern access. |
| Providers | Bank and processor acceptance of the precise activity and licence profile. |
| Operations | Ownership, management, compliance responsibilities and relevant specialist providers. |
Banking and processing need an honest application
A regulated business can still fall outside a particular provider’s appetite. Processor policies may restrict gambling independently of the incorporation route. Stripe’s published restrictions are one example; another provider’s policy must be assessed on its own terms.
The application should clearly explain the model, licences, customer markets and funds flow. We do not disguise player receipts as unrelated consulting revenue or assume that a generic business account can handle the proposed activity.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating a licence in one jurisdiction as permission to serve every country.
- Confusing a software or affiliate role with an operator role.
- Establishing the company before testing essential banking and acquiring dependencies.
- Underestimating reserves, settlement delays and ongoing compliance costs.
Establish whether an engagement is workable
We can assess the international structure and available financial routes, then coordinate accepted work with the relevant providers. A specialist licensing opinion or application is included only where expressly scoped; we do not promise acceptance for every model.
Tell us the exact product, role, customer jurisdictions, existing licences and intended transaction flows. These are necessary starting facts for deciding whether useful assistance is available.
