Grenada citizenship support

Build a citizenship plan around your family and business objectives, with a clear application budget and careful coordination of the work.

Hillsborough, Carriacou, Grenada

A considered choice of citizenship route, a documented family and funding plan, and coordinated application work with the authorised parties and the wider tax or business work defined.

Financial requirements
NTF US$235,000; qualifying tourism investment US$270,000 or ordinary approved-project investment US$350,000, plus the applicable government contribution and family/processing charges
Presence & absences
IMA’s published application guidance does not require a visit; separate residence conditions can matter for a later US E-2 application
Timing & validity
Evidence preparation, submission, due diligence/interviews, ministerial decision, funding and passport issuance are separate stages; no fixed total promised
Family considerations
Spouse; minor children; supported adult children under 30; supported parents/grandparents; adult siblings who are single and have no children

Who this is for

  • Families seeking another nationality for a practical purpose and able to fund the lawful contribution or approved investment plus the associated costs.
  • Entrepreneurs who want Grenada compared with other citizenship and residence options in the context of their international business.
  • Households with adult children, supported parents or an eligible sibling whose categories and costs need to be worked through carefully.
  • People considering a future US business through E-2 who need the separate treaty, domicile and business requirements assessed before choosing Grenada.

What we help coordinate

  • Strategic comparison: examine what Grenadian citizenship adds to your current position, the alternatives and the practical limits of the benefits that matter to you.
  • Family and cost mapping: establish each proposed dependant’s relationship, age and support category, including the different rules for parents aged 55 or younger and adult siblings.
  • Contribution versus project assessment: separate the immigration threshold from the economics, risks, holding period and liquidity of an approved project investment.
  • Evidence coordination: organise the personal and financial narrative, identify missing records and establish responsibility for the prescribed forms, legalisation, medicals and interview preparation.
  • Authorised application channel: define the participating authorised marketing and local agents and how planning, document coordination and official filing responsibilities connect.
  • Connected planning: scope any required tax, banking or business work; where E-2 matters, coordinate a separate US immigration assessment rather than treating it as an included or guaranteed visa.

The engagement begins with an agreed written scope. Local legal, immigration and other provider work is identified separately where required.

Why work with us

  • The same four-person household can produce different costs depending on who the four people are. A precise family map avoids misleading headline prices.
  • Grenada’s ordinary project and qualifying tourism-share routes have different investment conditions. The project’s approval, contract and funding structure all need to agree with the selected route.
  • A future US move requires more than treaty nationality. The three-year domicile provision for relevant investment-nationality applicants can materially change the plan and its timing.
  • Citizenship should fit the way your family actually lives and your companies actually operate. Our wider internationalization perspective helps identify the separate decisions that need to happen alongside it.

Contribution or approved project: compare the real commitment

The NTF contribution is non-refundable expenditure. A project investment exposes capital to the asset and contract as well as to the immigration conditions. Compare the total cash required, holding restriction, ownership rights, operating charges and credible exit—not simply the advertised entry number.

How to read these figures

The corrected 2024 regulation distinguishes an ordinary approved-project investment from the lower-priced qualifying tourism-share route. The tourism provision requires two or more individuals purchasing a unit valued at least US$540,000, with the specified developer-equity condition. A US$270,000 purchase in any property is not sufficient. Verify the exact project, approved category and transaction with the authorised agent before committing.

Government application fees and an example family budget

These are published programme charges, separate from professional fees, documents, medicals, passports, delivery and property transaction/ownership costs. The official fee table separates US$5,000 due diligence and US$1,000 interview fees; the FAQ also uses a US$6,000 due-diligence figure. Ask for a reconciled invoice so the same components are not counted twice.

    ItemPublished fee (USD)Age / scope
Application1,500 per personSeparate from the contribution and processing fee.
Processing1,500 per person aged 17+; 500 under 1717 is the relevant boundary, not adulthood at 18.
Due diligence5,000 per person aged 17+Dependent children aged 0–16 are listed as nil in the published table.
Mandatory interview1,000 per person subject to interviewThe circular includes principal, spouse, sponsor and dependants aged 17+; requirements can include a non-applicant spouse or sponsor.
Passport and deliverySeparate current passport/consular scheduleFees vary with submission channel and service. Do not treat the investment threshold as a passport-inclusive price.
    How to read these figures

For a principal, spouse and two children under 17, the listed NTF items total US$257,000: US$235,000 contribution, US$6,000 application fees, US$4,000 processing, US$10,000 due diligence and US$2,000 interviews. This excludes the other costs above and assumes no additional sponsor or non-applicant-spouse charges. A child turning 17 changes the calculation.

      Professional fees & additional costs
      • Published programme amounts belong to the government or qualifying investment; they are separate from Offshore Capitalist’s agreed fees.
      • The written budget should distinguish contribution/investment, government contribution, application, processing, due diligence, interviews, passports, authorised-agent work, our work and document costs.
      • A non-applicant spouse or sponsor can still create checks and charges. Family birthdays and changes before filing may also affect the budget.
      • Where a project is considered, assess the complete investment and ongoing costs. Unlawful discounts or unapproved developer financing are not a legitimate way to lower the qualifying amount.

      Eligibility & suitability

      Who can qualify

      • Principal applicants aged 18 or older with sufficient lawfully sourced funds, satisfactory personal history and the required health and application evidence.
      • Families fitting the precise dependant definitions, with financial support demonstrated for the categories that require it.
      • Applicants choosing a qualifying contribution or currently approved project and prepared to fund the full lawful amount.

      Restrictions & unsuitable cases

      • Applicants relying on false or omitted material information, or falling within the programme’s criminal, investigation, national-security or other refusal grounds.
      • People expecting a discounted or developer-financed arrangement to bypass the required qualifying payment.
      • Adult children aged 30 or over under the ordinary supported-child category, or siblings who are under 18, married or have children.
      • Applicants assuming citizenship immediately provides US residence, a US green card or unrestricted travel.

      Application process & timeline

The authorised-agent process separates preparation and government assessment from investment completion, registration and passport issuance. Timings depend on the file and the authority; an approval estimate is not a guarantee.

      Family memberAge / eligibilityConditions
SpouseQualifying spouse of the principalSeparate identity, character and relationship evidence. A non-applicant spouse can still be subject to interview and associated requirements; excluding the spouse from the citizenship grant does not necessarily remove checks.
Minor childrenUnder 18Recognised parentage/adoption and the applicable parental consent/custody evidence. At 17, the child enters the due-diligence, interview and higher processing-fee bands despite remaining a minor.
Dependent adult childrenAt least 18 and strictly under 30Must be financially supported by the principal or spouse. The 2019 replacement category does not require university attendance. A 30-year-old does not qualify under this ordinary adult-child category.
Parents / grandparents over 55Strictly older than 55; principal’s or spouse’s parent/grandparentFull financial support is required. These relatives use the ordinary dependant contribution calculation, including the extra-person charge where applicable.
Parents / grandparents aged 55 or younger55 or younger; principal’s or spouse’s parent/grandparentFull financial support is required. A US$50,000 additional contribution applies for each, including within an otherwise four-person family. Exactly 55 belongs in this category.
Adult siblings18 or older, single and with no childrenBiological or adopted sibling of the principal or spouse. US$75,000 extra contribution for each; not absorbed by the base four-person allowance.
Children born after the grantThe 2019 CBI amendment includes a child born within 12 months after grantThis additional CBI category must be distinguished from constitutional citizenship by descent. A later child born abroad may qualify by descent through a parent who became a citizen by registration; establish the child’s own legal basis and registration/documentation requirements.

After the decision: grant, passport and ongoing records

A favourable decision is followed by completion of the contribution or investment and proof of payment. IMA then issues the registration certificate establishing citizenship; the authorised local agent uses it for the passport application. Keep the decision, payment trail and certificate, and distinguish the citizenship grant from the later travel-document delivery.

      After grantActionDistinction
Investment holdingRetain ownership and payment records for the required periodThe five-year investment clock runs from the citizenship grant.
Passport expiryTrack adult and child validity separately; use the current consular checklistAn expiring passport is not an expiring citizenship.
Application integrityPreserve the evidence behind representations and respond to any authority processFraud or a non-compliant qualifying transaction can threaten the grant; the regulations contain a revocation procedure.
Family changesReview births, marriages, adoption and later additions individuallyA new family member is not automatically covered by an old application.
      Understand the ongoing requirements

IMA’s public application guidance does not require a visit before or during the application. That does not establish tax residence or satisfy a separate E-2 domicile requirement. Confirm any newly enacted regional or domestic conditions at filing rather than treating today’s administrative guidance as a lifetime guarantee.

The High Commission’s dated passport schedule provides ten-year passports for adults aged 18 or over and five-year passports for minors. This is more specific than an older IMA FAQ saying all passports last five years. Renewal remains a document procedure with current fees and evidence; citizenship is not ordinarily a subscription renewed by repaying the NTF contribution.

        Before you commit

Does Grenadian citizenship let me move to the US?

Not by itself. E-2 requires a separate US application, qualifying business investment and the applicable nationality and domicile conditions. If that is the main objective, resolve the US analysis before committing to the citizenship route.

Can you guarantee citizenship or a completion date?

The government controls assessment and the decision. The proposal can define the work, responsibilities and expected sequence, but should not replace the authority’s decision with a promise.

Should I choose a donation or property?

That depends on the full family cost and whether the specific asset makes commercial sense for you. We compare expenditure with capital at risk, ownership costs, holding requirements and the credibility of the exit.

        Who deals with the government?

Grenada uses an authorised marketing-agent and local-agent structure. The local agent handles the official submission and correspondence; the proposal identifies those parties and our agreed planning and coordination role.

What happens after the passports arrive?

Keep the citizenship and financial records, observe any investment restrictions and track passport validity. Future children or spouses need their own legal assessment, while tax residence and business obligations continue under the relevant rules.
